Life Without Debt — your ACL 387398 wording review is ready

Hi Laurence,

Lisa mentioned that you have some wording changes in mind for how the ACL 387398 licence is described across the LWD site — particularly through the legal / registration documents.

Rather than have you scroll through 58 files hunting for every mention, I've built a dedicated review page that pulls every ACL / Credit Licence / Credit Mediation Services reference from across the entire site — 258 occurrences across 58 files, grouped into 141 distinct wording patterns — into one page you can review in one sitting. Once you've decided the changes you want, I'll apply them consistently everywhere they need to land.

Your review page

The page shows every ACL wording currently in use, sorted by how many times it appears. Click any wording pattern to expand it — you'll see exactly which files use that wording, with a click-through link to each source document. Each occurrence is badged either STATUTORY (Constitution, ACNC application, ACL application, etc — the ASIC/ACNC/ATO filings) or DONOR/MARKETING (kits, rooms, ads, About page).

The most common current wordings — starting points for your review

These are the top wording patterns on the page. Any change here has the biggest ripple effect:

  1. "ACL 387398" — appears 20 times as the compact form (kits, ads, about).
  2. "under ACL 387398"13 times as the operational phrasing.
  3. "under Australian Credit Licence 387398"7 times, the formal full-name form.
  4. "under Australian Credit Licence 387398 held by Credit Mediation Services Pty Ltd"3 times, the fully-attributed formal formulation used in the statutory drafts.
  5. "under Australian Credit Licence 387398 via Credit Mediation Services Pty Ltd — engages creditors under NCCP..."3 times, the operational-detail formulation.
  6. "Credit Mediation Services Pty Ltd holds the credit licence — ACL 387398"2 times, the ownership-statement form.

How to send your changes back

Simplest way is to just reply to this email with a list. For each change, three fields keep the process clean:

  1. Current wording — either the exact quote or "wherever we say X"
  2. New wording — exact
  3. Why the change — regulatory reason, ASIC/ACNC feedback, solicitor markup. This matters because it tells me whether the same change needs to propagate to related documents.

Example: "Change every 'under Australian Credit Licence 387398 held by Credit Mediation Services Pty Ltd' to 'under Australian Credit Licence 387398 (held by Credit Mediation Services Pty Ltd, of which Laurence Hugo is the sole authorised credit representative)'. Reason: RG 96 §96.61 — the licence-holder / authorised-representative relationship needs to be explicit on public-facing surfaces to avoid a misleading-representation risk."

You can be as specific or as broad as you want. Some changes might be a single-file tweak; others might be a phrase-level sweep across every occurrence.

What happens next

  1. You send the list.
  2. Claude (with Carla's sign-off) drafts the exact before/after for every affected file — you'll see it as a summary before anything goes live.
  3. You approve.
  4. Changes deploy across all affected files at once — statutory drafts and donor-facing surfaces stay consistent.

Take as long as you need. There's no lodgement deadline pressing on this — better to get the wording right once than iterate later. If it helps to spread this over a couple of sittings, the review page has filters ("Statutory only" / "Donor only" / "High-occurrence 5+ times") so you can bite off one slice at a time.

Any questions on how the page works, ring me or drop a note to Lisa.

Kind regards,

Carla Oliver
