Rules of engagement

Every rule from the frame-lock applies. These are the email-channel-specific additions.

Copy sourceEvery paragraph is either (a) a verbatim locked frame-line, or (b) a linking sentence that adds no new claim. Frame-lines are visibly tagged in this artefact for G2 audit.
Ask cadenceOne ask per email, stated once, plainly. No "please give generously". No PS ask-restate. No footer-ask-restate. The one ask is the one ask.
Subject linesPlain-text, sentence case, no emoji, no all-caps, no urgency devices. Frame-line fragments only.
Sender identityFrom: Lisa Fowler <[email protected]>. Reply-to: [email protected]. Never a no-reply address.
Ask linkEvery ask link carries ?appeal=xmas2026 for attribution. Featured $1,840 tier links with &amount=1840.
Footer complianceFull compliance envelope in the footer block: ACL 387398, ABN/ACN/ACNC pending, DGR pending, unsubscribe link, physical address.
No image blocksText-only. No hero image, no photograph, no icon set. Reduces spam-filter risk and holds the "typography-only" visual discipline of the Christmas Appeal.
PersonalisationFirst-name only, and only if the record is confidently first-name-clean. No "{{fallback: 'Friend'}}" — if the name is not clean, salutation is "Hello,".

Email 1 · Warm-up

Sends Thursday 26 November, 08:30 AEDT. To the full founding-donor list + all opted-in newsletter subscribers. Warms the audience with lines 1–2 of the frame-lock and one composite paragraph.

Email 2 · Giving Tuesday launch · held

Sends Tuesday 2 December, 06:30 AEDT. The launch itself. Because this email is the founder-voice landing page for the entire appeal, its opening and closing paragraphs need Lisa's voice — and only Lisa's voice.

Voice-capture gap · Sprint 55.2 dependency

What is drafted: the middle 60% of Email 2. All ten locked frame lines expressed, Ellen paragraphs 2–3 written, ask ladder inserted. Ready in the Sprint 60 companion draft (not published here).

What is missing: the opening paragraph ("why I am writing to you today") and the closing paragraph ("what I am asking, and why now"). These are founder-voice paragraphs. Composed by Claude they would read as competent Claude; they would not read as Lisa.

What unblocks: a single 20-minute voice-capture session with Lisa. Corrina to schedule any time in the two-week window Mon 17 Nov – Fri 28 Nov. The four Sprint 55.2 targets (Email 2 open, Email 2 close, Lisa 2 Dec LI post, Laurence 3 Dec LI post) can be captured in the same session.

Escalation code: S55.2-EMAIL2-VOICE-CAPTURE. Owner: Corrina. Deadline: Fri 28 Nov EOD to preserve the Sprint 57 five-gate signing window terminating Fri 20 Nov — note this is after that gate, meaning Email 2 will move to a small dedicated Email-2 gate sequence run 1–2 Dec if voice-capture slips.

Fallback if voice-capture does not happen: Email 2 is pulled from the sequence. Emails 1, 3, 4 still ship (frame is intact without Email 2 — it degrades gracefully from "warm-up → launch → mid → close" to "warm-up → mid → close"). The Christmas Appeal itself is not blocked; only the launch-day email is.

Email 3 · Mid-appeal

Sends Friday 12 December, 10:00 AEDT. To the same list minus anyone who has already given (attribution: appeal_code=xmas2026). Delivers the numbers proof and restates the ask once.

Email 4 · Close

Sends Monday 22 December, 07:30 AEDT. To the same list minus anyone who has already given. Restates the ask one final time, plainly, then goes dark for the 25–31 Dec period (see Sprint 62 dark-period one-pager).

Approval gates

The 5-gate signing sequence from Sprint 57 frame-lock applies to Emails 1, 3, 4 in the standard window. Email 2, when voice-fill lands, runs a compressed 1–2 Dec gate.

Gate sequence for Emails 1, 3, 4

  • G1 · Corrina — Verboten sweep against A–J. Verify every ask link carries ?appeal=xmas2026.
  • G2 · Carla — Frame-lock verbatim audit. Every tagged frame-line matches Sprint 57 source exactly.
  • G3 · Laurence — Compliance envelope: ACL 387398, DGR-pending, ACNC-pending, unsubscribe wiring.
  • G4 · Chair — Board-level sign-off. Confirms cadence and volume match approved Q4 marketing envelope.
  • G5 · Lisa — Founder voice check. Reads each email aloud. If it does not sound like her, it does not send.

Compressed gate for Email 2 (if voice-fill lands 1–2 Dec): G1+G2+G3 in a single 90-minute pass; G4 pre-authorised subject to compliance sign-off; G5 self (Lisa is the source). Sends 06:30 AEDT 2 Dec.

What this artefact does not contain (and why)

Email 2 bodyHeld pending Sprint 55.2 voice-capture. Draft exists in a private working document. Publishing an unblessed founder-voice email to a shelf artefact would break the discipline that Lisa's voice is Lisa's alone.
Touch 5 (23 Dec Christmas note)Deferred to Sprint 55.2 (voice-blocked). Backlog item #20.
Touch 6 (30 Dec Q1 snapshot)Depends on live launch data. Cannot be drafted until 2 Dec – 22 Dec send data exists. Backlog item #21.
Email design systemText-only by design (see Rules of engagement). No HTML template beyond minimal structural markup + inline styles. Reduces spam-filter risk; holds visual discipline.
